Stripes are a great way to jazz up even the drabbest clothes in your closet. In addition to this, stripes give an optical illusion. Wearing right kind of stripes according to you body type can accentuate curves, make you look tall or broaden your slender body parts. It can also do the exact opposite thing. There's one basic rule 'horizontal stripes widen while vertical stripes lengthen'. Wear Vertical stripes to look taller and horizontal stripes to look broad. Similarly for a slimming effect, wear a blouse or bottoms with vertical stripes. In contrast, if you tend to look too skinny in some clothes then you might want to go for horizontal stripes which can make you look fuller.
